We’re excited to introduce the first version of the Brim Variable Library 🎉

This release marks the beginning of a shared, reusable set of variables and bundles designed to help teams get started faster.

What’s New in 2026.03.31 Variables

Variables

This is the first release of the Variable Library, including:

• A foundational set of over 80 pre-built variables and dependent variables
• Bundles of related variables for fast browse and add.

This initial version is designed to cover common clinical and research use cases, with more to come.

Variable Bundles

To accelerate project setup, we’re introducing several starter bundles:

• NSQIP bundle: Common variables from the NSQIP comprehensive surgical dataset
• Trauma bundle: Core trauma-related variables
• Measurement bundle: Common quantitative clinical measurements
• Diagnosis bundle: Common diagnosis variables.
• Patient Characteristics: Common patient-level attributes.
