July 2025 Release Notes
🧪Don’t Just Take Our Word for It: The Validation Tool
Brim now makes it easy to evaluate your Brim abstraction output against a comparison dataset.
This makes it simple to:
- Instantly understand how abstraction with your Brim variable set compares to manual review or a golden data set.
- Track improvements over time as you iterate on variables.
- Protect against data drift by reviewing a small set of data and comparing.
You can find the tool in Project Setup or your Settings menu. Simply upload your comparison dataset as a CSV and Brim will automatically calculate agreement with every generation.

🔁 End-to-End Research Workflows with REDCap Export
Brim now integrates directly with REDCap for import and export, bringing your protocol full circle.
- Import variables directly from your REDCap data dictionary
- Generate an abstraction, review the results, and iterate until you hit the mark.
- Export structured data right back into REDCap
Read more about how to do this here.
