September 2025 Release Notes
This month’s Brim release is all about giving you more flexibility and control when working with complicated variables.
🔄 Cleaner Variable Creation & Editing
We’ve redesigned the variable screen to make it easier to navigate, edit, and manage. Now you can find what you need faster and build cleaner projects with less friction.
More about how each field works here.
📌 Explicit Variable Referencing in Prompts
You can now explicitly reference one variable inside another’s prompt. This makes it easier to build layered definitions and keep logic consistent across your projects.
When writing a prompt, use the “{“ to explicitly reference a variable.
📐 Ignore Text, Focus on Inputs
Sometimes you don’t need Brim to look at the clinical note itself; you only want to derive meaning from input variables. Now you can tell Brim to ignore text and work only from variable inputs, creating streamlined workflows.
📄 Only Include the Documents You Want
By default, Brim will look at every note for every variable. If you know that you only need to abstract from certain notes, you can specify that Brim should only generate a value using notes with certain titles or from a certain date range.
Also in This Release
- Add document upload dates throughout, including to detailed export
- Better management for working on multiple Brim projects simultaneously in different browser tabs.
- More info for Admins about token usage by project.
